Internal and External Mail
Mail delivery and pick up varies for each program/department. Please contact your Administrative Assistant to find out where your program/departments mail area is, how your area processes their mail, and mailing codes for your program/department.
Couriers, depending on where they are going (i.e. East, Victoria) must be at the mail room (in the basement) by 12 noon to ensure they leave campus on that day or they may not leave campus until the next day. Other couriers going north and some southern parts of BC can be put in the mail baskets as the couriers come to campus late in the afternoon. Courier packages require two labels (name, address, and phone number); the second label is for the waybill. Mark your programs/departments mailing code on the outside of the package.
NOTE: Personal or self-stamped mail must be deposited in the red mail boxes just inside the main library entrance door. The university does not process stamped mail. You can buy stamps at the bookstore.
Most regular size and weight mail for the regional campuses does not require postage – we have ‘bin services’. However, your program/department is charged a fee for oversized and heavy mail items that do not fit in the regional mail bin.
Mark the envelope or package clearly with the regional name (Quesnel, Terrace, Ft.St John, Prince Rupert, Williams Lake), as well as a return name/address. For the larger items that will require a fee, mark your program/department mailing code on the outside of the envelope/package.
